HA JOE
I have looked at them at least 10 times and there are a lot of things I like about them and a lot of things I don’t like about them as well. As to likes I like their overall looks and lines and the beam to the length seem to be pretty good. I like their overall finish they seem to have used pretty good materials on them. As to their ride I have never ridden in one so I can’t help you on that some say it is a dry boat others have said it is a wet boat. I also like that it is a 2 motor boat, I personally thing after two outboards one should go with inboard power. As to the things I don’t like about it I don’t like that coffin seat it seems to take up more room then what it gives back in storage I really don’t like the hydraulic lift to try?? to get under it. I really don’t like a in deck live well on a 32’ boat that should be a bracketed boat with a above live well giving more under the deck storage space. As to cost looks to be in line. If I was in the market for a 30 something open fisherman I would first choose SeaVee 31 that is a really sweet boat next would be the Contender. FellowShip |

I took one on a sea trial at the Miami Boat Show. It was a windy day seas were 3'-5'. We went out G-cut. The ride was true sea craft but -- it was a wet ride. I hear they have made a few adjustments to dry it out? If you can get a look at the old "Spanish Fly" you'll notice he had spray rails to help the wet ride problem. As for what I would like to see Sea Craft do with the hull, Set it up like the new 25' with the intergrated transom.

I’m certain you would do this BUT make sure you have a really REALLY good surveyor ( or two ) go over the hull ..given all the recent press I would be very cautious …. I have only been on one, never out in it …. Comments about the boat from those who have been are somewhat mixed (so that’s real subjective i.e. wet ride , cant get out of its own wake(you can get better power) etc) A few years ago one sat in a dealers lot for what I recall two and half seasons BRAND NEW…. I think it was recently for sale again as a demo boat ..Like 60 hours on the engines.... See more (at least around here) 32 Regulators floating around Have to say the 32 SeaCraft has a really nice shear …. Shes a looker!! ![]() There are some good surveyors right in your area… |

To add to the fire, a good friend of mine bought one, that we used for less than a year and half. In that time period we some how cracked the bulk head and it had more gelcoat cracks then I would of liked to have seen on a boat of that age. Aslo it was a very very wet boat although a pretty nice ride. One last thing I would like to add when we would come off a big wave the whole cap would shake back in forth. It was set up perfect for fishing though with the large cap and big open spaces.

Thanks everyone...I do appreciate your help. There are several on the market but the one I was looking at has 250 hp Yamahas on it which I liked better than the optimax you find on most. I have been on one before for a test ride. It was calm day and couldn't get a good feel for overall ride. I did like what I was seeing and feeling withthe ride but I couldn't comment on it being a "wet" boat. I do like the layout as I just fish and don't do much cruising. The boat I am looking at I can pick up at a decent price so it makes the decision a bit easier. My 23' Sea Craft is just too small for the fishing I do. I know there are other 30' center consoles to look at but cost is a factor and I do know you get what you pay for. I will be selling my boat if I make a deal on another one so if anyone is intersted, please take a look at the photos on the vintage page.
Thanks, Joe Boyne "Extreme" |

From looking at the 32 I think they put the console back too far and that is the reason the boat has bad rep for being wet. I know in my 25' SeaCraft the guys in the back of the boat get wet if we have much of a cross wind. I feel that would be true with all center consoles though. But any way if my boat was 5' longer bow I know the console would receive a lot of spray off the bow.
