Default Gelcoating Fresh Glass?

I have a couple/few questions:

1. What brand is the most user friendly? If there is such a thing.

2. I read something about it not cureing unless you cut the oxygen off to it. It that true? We did some same spots on the SeaCraft a few years ago and we didn't.
2a. Is there some you can just brush on like resin, after mixing of course?

3. Is it better to let the fresh glass work cure real well before gelcoating?

4. If I use the boat before gelcoating is there any special process to putting the gelcoat down?

I guess that will be enough for now....
