Hi guys, EggsuckingDog, sorry I just noticed your post, if you still need the templates I'll trace and send them.

Any more ideas fellas, or should I just do Starboard. I think teak or some sort of wood will look classy.

Eggsuckingdog, I'll trace them onto some rosin paper.

Milesoffshore, let me know what size they are and I'll be sure to donate to the site.

Thanks
Alex

A router works wonders on Starboard. If you make an inside circular template for the router base to run against the hole will be smooth and the rounded bit's bearing will have a smooth surface making the round edge nice.....in other words, a saw cut hole for rods doesn't give a smooth enough edge for the bearing.

Thanks for the responses. Miles, thanks for looking. Too bad they won't work.

I'm torn between making them from another type of wood, or starboard. I know many of you guys will say "Starboard" no maintenance, and while that is true the way I do teak its pretty maintenance free (epoxy plus clear imron/awlgrip)

Tunaorlator, thanks for those pics. You're MA looks awesome. You should post some pics on here, of both the Northern Bay and the MA. !

Not sure where you are located Grady, but if your in northeast there are some guys selling Black Locust in Centerville NY and NW Jersey. Stuff is N. America's answer to teak. Super hard and stable, super rot resistant, and beautiful to boot. Super cheap $3-5 bd/ft. Google "black locust for sale" and you might find a seller near you. As dem Dixie boys might say, "git 'er done"
