I have a '73 20' cc with evinrude 225 ocean pro. Does anyone know the weight of this motor and how much lighter a 150 v6 would be in comp. also how much would a 2strk 115 weigh. any info will help.

Check out this link to give you a basic idea.
http://www.outboardmotor.net/ My 83 115hp Merc I-6 weighs about 275 lbs new 2 strokes are close 100- 140 lbs more. v6 225 OP probably close to 500 where a new 2 stroke 150 may be 420-450 or so ...

My 2008 Etec 115 weighs about 375. I added a leg extension kit to a 20" to make it 25". I heard they are comming out with a 130.. probably the same weight and block etc..

Nada.com list the weight of all motors.
That evinrude Oceanpro 225 is one heavy heavy motor. I know that NADA says only 453 . . . after moving 2 around my garage for a few months (and parting one out) . . . I'd be willing to bet big money that number is a very light estimate. Mid w/o trim and tilt was 175lbs of scrap aluminum ![]() After pushing those motor around . . . my little merc blackmax's felt like toys. |
