any thoughts on nidacore?

while doing repairs to my fathers "restored" 20', we discovered that the floor is nidacore. it seems to be impressively strong for its weight so i'm considering it for the floor rebuild on my 18'...anybody have much experience with the stuff?

Awesome stuff, so is divinycell the lightwieght cores, all they do is create a sandwich affect betweent the laminates making them very strong if done correctly. Use epoxy and biax also and you will have one hell of a structure.

If you work with it, just remember that you have to thru-bolt everything-just important to remember if doing areas w/ no access.

Yup! It is a challenge, I used the stainless marine toggle nuts to thru bolt It was really alot of fun thru-bolting the t-top, I had to use really long machine screws. the toggles have two plastic zip straps.

good points about hardware...thats why we are working on my dad's boat. the previous owner just epoxied anchors(like sheetrock) into the nidacore for the t top.

how about treated marine plywood, i've got good line on that. any adverse chemical affects with bonding?

i should have pics up soon with my '75 18' that is now missing it's floor...got it out in one piece too
