Fuel tank question w/pic
I need to credit Bonefish and his gorgeous 23' for this picture. It's the best example I can find.
How would one inspect the pick-up tube in this picture? Is the tube small enough to slide through the male npt boss welded to the tank? |

Re: Fuel tank question w/pic
usually the tubes are welded to the tank with the elbo threaded in, sometimes the tubes are threaded in, depends on who made the tank, sometimes there is a screen at the bottom which is a P.I.T.A, if it's clogged you might have to put another tube in with a flange similiar to the fuel sender.

Re: Fuel tank question w/pic
Looks like there are 2 pick up tubes for dual engines. Are they both clogged, maybe switch the fuel hose around?

Re: Fuel tank question w/pic
In the picture shown, the far right fitting is the one in question. The female threaded fitting is welded to the tank and (I believe) the anti-siphon valve screwed in. The other two are fill and vent. I want to know if the pick-up tube is removable through this threaded fitting??

Sometimes yes, sometimes no, depends on who made the tank.
