Default Replacing standard axles with torsion axles

I have an aluminum Road Boss trailer with the original springs that are rusty. Was going to replace the springs soon. What's involved in replacing regular axles with torsion axles regarding clearances, etc.? Is there much/any modification required? Any recommendations on a brand?

I replaced mine with torsion axels a year or so ago, not much too it for me. It required a few holes to be drilled and they mounted up pretty easy. Not sure on the brand, I found a used set dirt cheep and used them after replacing the bearings and hubs.

What's the differnce between the two? I will be refurbishing my trailer soon, it has rusty springs & I'm curious about swapping.

Check this site out. www.dexteraxle.com
Go to the specification link and there is a detailed drawing showing the assembly. Much better than me trying to explain .
