Rub Rail Question

I am just about finishined with my 73SF and am looking to order a new rubrail.

I would like the kind with the stainless insert.

Somehow I lost the piece of the old one that I had saved, so I have no idea what size and shape it was.

I appreciate any help with this.

Try looking at this and measure to get the right shape and size then find the one with the insert you are looking for.

They are the ones I have used in the past when no old rub rail was available to match. ALways looks good. Just do it in the hot sun or have a big pot of warm water to help it take the shape you need.

There may be others out there but this is what I have used. Web site is good and you can order them from West Marine to get it closer to you and save on shipping.

After you have found the type on the Taco site go to rubrails.com and give this guy a call. I got the exact product from him, the black portion of the rubrail was on piece instead of 20' sections. He was alot cheaper than anyone else.

A new question- how are you bending the stainless at your rear corners if you have used this product? Concave stainless does not want to bend around such a tight radius. Even tried with a pipe jig and hydraulic bender, no luck.

Secure the insert all the way back to the turn. Now take a rubber mallet in one hand, and push on the piece that's sticking out with the other. Start pounding with the mallet right at the radius while pushing with the other hand, it will bend around. You do need to pound with authority, but you don't have to wail on it. Basicall, with the mallet and your other hand, you're "walking" it around that radius...

Everyone except the cleaning girls at Wellcraft learned to rubrail. So I've installed a few...hundred rubrails... (probably more like a thousand!)

So I think I remember looking at those kits when I first started dissasembling the boat a couple of years ago.

I think the V11-9795 Kit was the closest fit. Has anyone used this particular rubrail for a early 70's SF?

Taco recommends for SeaCraft Boats is #V21-9613BKA and the SS insert is #S11-4510.
I just installed it on my 23 CC turned out looking Very Good. You can look at the video installations of these on Youtub. There are a number of instillation videos there pull up the one for aluminum rub rails if I remember correctly at the end will show Rigid with the SS insert installation.
I got my Rub Rail from a company called Railings Unlimited in Fort Laud. There phone # is 954-764-2784 cost me $400. for 60’ of both materials plus two end caps. You will need approx. 200 #8 1” Philips flat tapering screws.
