Default Mass guys - looking for a dry storage marina,

Well, I've been away from here for waaay toooo long, but that's another story -

My honey and I just picked up a 25 Sea Ray, the little 20 Safari was just too small for what we did / do - but gave us some great adventures (still have it - reluctant to part with it)

Does anyone know of a marina / boatyard, on the Mass. south shore, somewhere in green Harbor - Plymouth area, where we could leave this beast on the trailer, and just drive down, hook up, launch and go, and leave it there on the trailer when we're done ? Don't really want to do the slip thing, between cost, maintenance increase, and typical waiting lists to get a slip.

any pointer be glad to hear !

thanks

Bill

Have you looked into rack storage? I had mine on the rack for a number of years and was generally very satisfied with it. The time you would spend hokking up, launching, reloading (getting the trailor and a place on the ramp), putting it away would be at least 4 times longer than if you called ahead, told the time time you want to go in and they are expecting you and when you're done have them pull you out and put it away. Different yards will be good/bad, attentitive or uncaring, but that is in the selection process. If you need to work on it, they can put it on your trailer and you can take it anywhere you want to. Something to think about.

Good luck.

Bill - Welcome back! Good to hear from you!

I agree with that rack storage idea - sure beats fooling with a trailer!

Don't underestimate what a Seafari can do! I recently made a 700 mile trip in mine! Check out my post/slide show in pictures section! Denny

Bill,
You'd have to call them to find out but in Green Harbor there are 2 marinas - Green Harbor Marina and Taylor Marine. Taylor is adjacent to the GH ramp on the Brant Rock side so that would be a nice location. Further back in town on Rte 139 is South Shore Dry Dock. They sell used boats but I believe offer storage as well. There are also a couple smaller yards on 139 (Fieldston Marine?) that may be options.

The rack idea is a good one to consider. Marshfield doesn't have a rack facility but Bayside Marine in Duxbury has one as does Brewer's in Plymouth.

Hey Guys, thanks for the ideass-

Big Lew -thought about rack storage, generally see a limit of 23 - 24, this is a big 25, I don't mind the launch routine, anyways -

Scott - great tips, will follow up on those, right where I'd like to be

Denny, been following the groups exploits, just always too busy to dive in, saw your trip pix - looked great.

beleive me, I know all too well what a 20 Seafari can do, way beyond what most would expect - the boat is friggen phenomenal, and I'm crazy, but the truth is that there's no substitute for waterline length... or for keeping your honey happy !! And she loves to fish as much as I do, and cruise, and camp overnight on the boat.

anyone else got any further suggestions feel free to toss em my way !

thanks

Bill
