Default Finally got the 18 bloody!

Well, My family has been on vacation in Nags Head this week. We scored a great oceanfront cottage at a great deal. Brought the SeaCraft in case the weather allowed and so it did. A good friend came down Monday and with east winds blowing the clear, warm water in close, we made a go for it. We ran south along the beach to Wimble Shoals then headed out about 12 miles looking for a grass line. Winds were just turning to the southeast and blowing 5-10 knots. The ride out was nice. My friend, Boots, said he had been out there in several boats larger than mine and kept commenting how they would be beating you to death in the same seas, 2-3' and falling out. Finally found a grassline and went to work. Couldn't get all the lines out before we hooked a gaffer dolphin. We trolled for about 5 hours and ended up with 15 dolphin. Left the dock at 5:30 and returned at 2:00. I was so pleased with the boat and the motor. We ran for almost 2 hrs. then trolled for about 5, then 1-1/2 hours in burning around 27 gallons of fuel. It was a great day!! Here's a pic of a couple of the fish. Internet is spotty and aggravating, so, I'll post some more pics later. Thanks for letting me share a great day in a great boat!

Good for you! Nothing like a little bit of (or a lot of) dolphin blood to make your trip perfect!!

Glad to hear you had such a great trip Boo! Went fishing with Snookerd in his 18 at the Peanut Island gathering, my first time in an 18! I was very impressed with the ride and I like the way the console is further forward with more room aft of the seat than most 20 CC's! Danny's boat seems very well balanced! Denny
