Sceptre difference in years
I looked at a 87 Sceptre today and the windshield doesn't look like it is as strong as the earler model ones. The whole boat as far as hardware looked to be alot cheaper than the earlier model. Does anyone know why this is? maybe cause of the transfer of ownership of Seacraft (Tracker, New Brunswick) Kind of turned me off.

two words "profit margin" reduce costs and make more money, none of them were built as well after Bill Potter was gone, maybe some of the CSY years. Still a great boat.

Yeah just like everything else. I had to let this one go just needed too much, it wouldn't have made sense in the end as far as $$$.

That Sceptre had an after market windshield that was changed out by one of the previous owners. That boat was for sale some time ago with the Yanmar in it.

No that isn't the one that i looked at, i went and look at another one in my area today it looked like the windshield was screwed down from the inside flange instead of having the hidden studs dont know if that was original in 87 looked like --it. The one i think your talking about is that one with the curved windshield (username Heynow), from the pictures that boat looks really nice. Far cry from the one i looked at today.

The boat looks pretty nice. Are you going to sell it without the motor?
