Default fuel tank 18sf potter 1978

I think I have a leak on my 18 potter. 1978. It's the original 47 gallon tank. I took the deck plates off and its a slushy nasty nasty sight. Foam is wet and gross. I smell fuel when I stick my nose to the deck plate. I see that the fill hose close by the sending unit is dry rotted and I'm sure the hoses need replacement if not the tank too. Should I replace the tank for sure while I'm in there as apposed to just the hoses? IS this common and should it be ignored since there isn't any fuel in the bilge? What's the best after market tank? Price ranges?.

I'd replace it if it is the original. They usually don't make it this far. Get a moeller poly tank, others have used these with good results. I think a 40 gallon will set you back about 400 bucks.
