Default Couple of Basic Restoration Questions

What is the best way to restore the deck of my Seacraft short of repainting it? Is it possible to very lightly wet sand the deck to bring out the "new" look to it? Obviously I wouldn't want to sand down the non-skid feature of the deck and make it slick.

Also, my windshield has something going on. I don't know if this is pitting or what but how can I restore this windshield? Can I take a steel wool and lightly knock this stuff off without removing the finish and causing a bigger problem?

I know both of these 2 issues can be improved with a lot of elbow grease. I just need some direction. Thanks!!

Best bet on the deck is to either scrub it clean...if that does not turn out to your satisfaction then the next easiest thing to do is re paint. On the aluminum windshield any aluminum cleaning compound and lots of elbow grease and then buff and buff.

Also, what is a good cleaner to really give the cockpit floor a workover? I once used Soft Scrub and a bit of bleach to scrub the deck of a boat and it did great but what cleaning product/chemical is considered the best for this?

What about using a little "Rust Buster" (ie. HCL based cleaner) on the deck. This will remove rust stains and hard water deposits before you start really scrubbing it.

I use Soft Scrub on the deck and it works well. I think it was recommended by either PowerBoat Reports or Consumer Reports as being one of the best deck cleaners.

Check out the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers too if you are getting down on your hands and knees doing any type of scrubbing.
