I run one on my merc to make a 25" shaft = 30" . . . it's not a 225, but the kit is similar. Call Bay Manufacturing.

The only other thing you can do is find someone with a blown 25" and buy the mid section and drive shaft or lower unit. You can also get the Mid section and add a 5" shaft extension if you don't want to go into your lower unit to change the shafts out to a longer one. Lots of guys here use that bay kit and like it. I never used on. I got a guy with a merc. grave yard to get parts from and can get the parts for less. But you will find that the bay kit maybe cheaper unless you can find the other parts for a good deal.

Thread drift...I know you've been around here much longer than I have, and know better than I do, but is it an optical illusion that your anti-cav plate seems to be below the keel? I thought it should be 1 to 1 1/2" ABOVE the keel?

It's the pic . . . This motor is almost level bottom raised to the highest bolt holes. See how high the motor is raised @30" size. In the 25" config it's about 2" up. I have 4 black engines this is just one I put together for my dad's seawolf.

I bought a 1999 225 30" optimax and converted it to 25". Will the 5" setup I have work on your EFI?
