I'm torn...
Since I have blown my engine on my 20 SF that I just this winter gutted and put back together I have found myself looking for 23s. I have realized to do all the fishing I want, I need a 23. I can go striper fishing in the 20, but most days a 23 is required for tuna fishing in the northeast. I have a few buddies with boats big enough for tuna fishing but I hate having to rely on their schedules to do it. So, do I sell the 20 with a blown power head and buy a 23 or keep it and repower? If I sell it as is, still needs interior paint, what is the hull worth with new decks, new 25 inch transom, new console with Garmin 740s and thru hull ducer, new 50 gal alum fuel tank, all new wiring, etc. (check my rebuild thread) The restore is not professional as I have done it all myself but it is strong as hell. There are some blemishes in the work, that are not structural, just un appealing in looks a little.
What do I do? Thanks guys. |

Actually I like rustys idea of getting a 23 with a good but older motor you have the 25" transome and putting the mtr on it and selling it . If you got one with twin 150's or a single 200 perfect . I've had 200 on a 20' and while I think a 150-175 is perfect I sure didn't mind 200hp to push me thru some nasty crap when I could use it,

Then sell the 20 and get a new 250 for the 23
