Default Sea trial on the Sceptre

Left Dawhoo landing at 8am. Went out at North Edisto and hooked a left and ran the beach about 4 miles out. Came thru the Charleston harbor and ran the Intracoastal the way back home. Twin 150 ocean runners ran perfect. Used around 69 gallons of fuel.(70-80 mile trip). I am getting 1.5 mpg at 3500rpm. That's at 23knots. I know the above math doesn't work out because I had to step the pace up to get home.( daughters birthday dinner). I installed the Garmin 740s and 18xhd radar. The radar is Awsome! This thing was marking birds! Thanks to Bennett marine for the trim tabs because it was rough as hell Saturday morning. 4' seas and I put my son in the bean bag. I will say the Ocean Tamer bean bags are perfect for the kids. The Seacraft holds true to its ride. I did however take one over the windshield. Yes, it was cold!! Charleston hasn't quite warmed up yet. Reports of wahoo starting to trickle in and as soon as the cold front maker shuts off...... It's fishing time! Thanks for all the support on the site. Next on the agenda is painting the boat.

Good for you - the Sceptre is a classic looking boat too, timeless.

How was the pounding in those rough seas ? Have you had other boats to compare the ride?

Bgreene, the pounding was present. I am still trying to find the right tabbing for the boat. I think I would do better with more speed but that kills my range. It's 50nm to the fishing grounds. I didn't have the 120qt cooler up front which seems to make the bow come down a little. Mostly, I grew up on center consoles but I think the boat rides great. Fishing this Thursday is on my agenda. We'll see what Mother Nature has to offer with the winds. Overall I am pleased with the boat. Curtains would be nice! The spray over the windshield is a little annoying.
