1975 23' SF Motor Well

My recently purchased 23SF is going to the shop for a transom replacement next week. The shop has suggested that we should remove the portion of the motor well that protrudes in to the boat. I'm sure this has been done before and I would love to see photos and hear suggestions on this. I don't want to add a bracket for a variety of reasons. Would consider raising the transom and going with a 30" motor. Thanks

Hi Caper, doing that same job now raised transom to 30" coosa blue water. Cut splash well back about 14" and raised the well by 5". Going to be rigged with a mercury 300 verado or a yamaha f-300 depends on $$$$$ check out my pics..
