I would suggest raising the deck and rebuilding/replicating the channels

FWIW I'm gonna do my 23 Sceptre I/O decks and try to keep the gutters. Here is the short version of my plan if it helps:
  • cut the deck out 2" inside the edges, leaving the bottoms of the gutters as tabs on the liner,
  • Pull the deck top skin
  • Recore the deck outside the boat with Corecell and extend the edges out 2" with glass (finish the surfaces as much as possible while out too)
  • Bond the deck back in on top of the stringers and tabs
  • Fair in the edges

FAS - for how to do hatch lips on new decks look at Billy's thread: http://www.classicseacraft.com/commu...ad.php?t=24262

I just recorded my decks with corcell.check out my build on my 76. 23.. I am not to concerned with the appearance as I will be laying teak in my cockpit sole...build a lay up table and you can make top skins thqtvare nice and smooth and then cut and shape to the floor and bed the whole panel

If I where to do the decks again I would make a template then build the new deck on Melamane board and then just have to tie in the edges and save a bunch of time and money on the damn 9" discs alone. Resettle one of the guys sorry can't recall who did a beautiful job this way you could even do the gelcoat except for the edges where you would ruff them up and tie in
Do you have any photos of the work? ( Sorry for respond this late but i had an accident and won't be able to use the right hand for at least 30 more days)
