Default Seacraft expert in Tampa area

Hey folks. New member of the forum, been using it quite some time for info though. I'm a younger guy, but have always been drawn to the older seacrafts due to their beautiful lines and stellar reputation. I've finally found a 23 that is in my price range and seems to be in good condition. Unfortunately I live in Alabama and the boat is in the Tampa area. Does anyone know of a reputable person I could hire to look at the boat for me before I make the trip down there? I would of course be happy to compensate the person for their time.

Thanks!

Hey Chip, my email is all f'ed up. Tried sending you the pics. I am in Hilton Head until Nov 4, check out the Gatherings section. I will be down there at least two weeks if boat is still unseen. I have little knowledge of the 23's. Could not attach pics at THT. Let me try here.

This is the current state. FossilMan is a member here and the son of Sunshine tanks in So. Florida. Prices are reasonable for members. Nothing to be afraid of. Will have him coal tar epoxy it for me before shipping. Mounting may require a little creativity. No biggie. Lastly, 100 pound monofilament will be placed in trough, and have a handle tied under consul, before Installing Lifecaulk around hatch for easy removal in the future. Hope this helps.

I saw the boat you are talking about also, that motor it comes with is nice, the boat looks beautiful in pictures, I too thought, well why not fix the issue rather than lower the price of the boat dramatically. But perhaps he is one of those guys with too many toys, and just trying to offload some even at a lower cost. Could be a nightmare, or could be an easy fix and a good pickup! Hope it works out for you.
