Default Another use for coal tar epoxy?

Ok,I picked up a 16' Starcraft aluminum boat(I know,I know its not a Seacraft)just for fishing some small lakes and ponds at home and have a question some may be able to answer.

I have to replace the rotted section of the deck floor in front of the windshield. after removing the wood I exposed the aluminum hull stakes/supports and all the rivets in that section.
Was thinking while that area is exposed, why not give all the rivets a coat of some type of sealer before I cover it back up again.
Anyone have any thoughts on rolling on some coal tar epoxy on these rivets?, or maybe some of that roll on truck bed liner sold in places like Walmart.?

My War Eagle is welded but spray lined inside. I like it. Just prep it so it sticks.

In my opinion a lining is good. It kills some of the sound if you drop a shell when duck hunting or putting weight on a bass rig. I've used the wall mart line (Duple Color I think is the brand name) on scouts, old blazers and aluminum boats a few times with good success. But I honestly do not remember paying attention it keeping water out on the boats. Just the idea of reducing corrosion and wear and being a bit quieter.

I rolled the wall mart stuff.

Thanks guys.
I think I'll just roll on some of that bed liner from walmart. My son and some family will be the primary users of this 16 footer, as I'm on the Seacraft most of the fishing season.
I've had a few aluminum boats that over time developed tiny leaks around some of the rivets, so I figure while they are exposed a coat of some flexible sealer would be a good idea. Thanks for the tips
