Default A funny story

A friend of mine runs a couple charter boat's on Lake Ontario. One is 30' lake boat, and the other is a 20' river boat for the Niagara River (below the falls).
So, one day a few years ago, he had a party of two on the river boat for some lake trout and steel head drift fishing. They were up river near devils hole when they saw something floating. They weren't sure what is was but they decided it was worth investigating as it's not all that rare to find bodies in the river.
Well they motored over to it and found that it was a guy trying to swim across the river from Canada to NY.They tried to pull the guy into the boat but he didn't want to be rescued, and kept fighting them off.
Finally after forcefully dragging the guy on board they called in the coast Guard from the Niagara falls station.

**Here's the funny part**
The guy was wearing only a speedo,a full length fur coat,a pair of flip flops, and had all the coat pockets filled with condoms

The coast Guard said this guy had tried to pass the border previously by swimming across but was never successful.
He never explained the reason for the condoms or the fur coat. Boy those Canadians will try anything to get to the USA.

With 280+ views and no replies (classic CSC). Ill say thats a funny story. Maybe the condoms were for flotation after he got tired and the fur coat was to warm him up. Im dont know wtf hes doing. Hes going the wrong way!

And it really is a true story,I didn't make it up.There are many weird things that come down the Niagara river.
I remember the first time I saw the river and the falls, what amazed me is the incredibly crude pipe railings that run along the side of the river very close to the falls.
Heck it's basically no security border at all.
I've been fishing the lake for 30 years and in those years there have been many times that we've heard the coast ask for boats to be on the lookout for an overturned boat with no one aboard,or to be on the lookout for a body that was last seen in the river. Those are NOT! funny stories

I'm not sure I'd be dragging that guy into my boat. What a nut!
