One can purchase fiberglass angle stock (90 degree) from McMaster Car. Comes in a variety of sizes. I screwed this down to the deck (may be possible to use thru bolts if the fuel tank hatch is opened, I can't remember now which method I used) and then used bolts to to secure the console to the angle stock. The seam can be caulked with a marine sealant. A pretty good solution.

I like the aluminum angle bolted down and the finish off with caulking

Was planning to cut it this weekend but it's racing here and I travel all this week for work.
