20' Potter Hull- Prop Size, Zuke 200
1972 Hull. We are getting ready to do a repower with a DF200ATXW2. I am doing my research on props. Anyone have any input? From what I have gathered we are thinking a 21. No bracket
Thanks!! |

That engine, at 520+ lbs, seems to be a lot of weight for a 20 foot boat. Bracket or transom mount?

Be sure to raise the transom and plug the scuppers !

Heavy Engines and CG Shift
Even without a bracket with your heavy engine, you may want to take a few minutes to review my post of 9-24-16, ESTIMATING CG SHIFT with HEAVY ENGINES. It shows how To calculate the CG shift and how you may locate other items to compensate. I chose an ETEC 150 in 2013 because at 418#, it was the lightest option. Extra aft weight does not affect my Seafari as much as yours. Best wishes.

Hi GetLit,
You might already know this but Mercury has a great prop selector online: https://www.mercurymarine.com/en/us/...or/#!/step-one Looks like for your boat and engine, anywhere between 19" and 21" pitch would do, depending on what your performance goals and total weight are. Cheers |

So initial test with a 19, shows we are going to need a 21! Batteries and Fuel tank have been moved forward to compensate. Boat only had 40 gallons of gas, no T Top and no LP yet but very happy with where the water line was. Never posted a picture on here but I will try here shortly.
