Default Foam question

I'm restoring a 1976 inboard cc. I'm removing some wet foam, do I need to replace the foam under parts of the floor? The wood stringers are good and I just redid the floor using coosaboard. I didn't want to cut the bottom skin of the original floor so I didn't remove the foam before replacing the floor. I gained access from the sides of the engine compartment and pulled out wet foam. I really don't want to replace it. Will it affect much? Thanks!

You'll get mixed answers on this. I personally like the foam, and if measures are taken to keep it dry, there are no problems. I like the added sound deadening/stiffness it gives the hull. When I did my bass boat, and my 20 SeaCraft, I cut 2" holes in the finished floor and poured foam in from there. Then glassed over them. In the areas I have foam, there are NO penetrations. No screws, no hoses, nothing. I'm fairly confident that they will stay dry. Some people say it will always get wet somehow.
