Default So how tall?

I’m going to possibly buy a house in a community that has a restriction that will let you have a boat behind the wood fence BUT the boat can’t be seen over the 8 foot wood fence.

No problems with my 20 until I get a t-top

So what does a typical 20 with a t-top measure height wise?

Personally, I wouldn’t live in a place that they would rather see an 8 foot fence than a boat. Having said that, how would being able to see a t top affect one’s ability to see the boat?

Yea I get you but with all that goes on here in miami withers people putting all kinds of crap in their yards it's kinda of nice to have some rules in place.. the fence is not the pro lemon and a 20 would be seen over it but add the t top and a pain on the ass neighboor9with nothing to do and there it is

my neighborhood is pretty similar but they do allow you to conceal it with vegetation and landscaping if necessary to conceal from roadway. you can still see it a little bit through the hedge so i just put a small camo leafy net from an army surplus over the t-top. no complaints.

oh and to answer your question, the top would be about 7' above the sole of the boat so an 8' fence wont cover it.

I used to know about 80% of the people in my neighborhood, but times have changed and new people have moved in, some nice and some not so much. I bought the lot next door to me years ago and a few years ago I combined them, mostly for tax purposes. I have left the property in a natural state, because I prefer it that way. A couple of years ago, a snooty neighbor calls code enforcement because he didnÂ’t like the trees and palmettos. The city has an ordinance on vacant property that basically says if someone complains about vegetation, the owner has to clear 15 feet on three sides.
I told the code man that the lots are combined, which makes that property part of my yard and since it was never mowed, it didn’t need to be. He agreed with me.
Point is you need to check the rules as to whether being able to see a part of a frame and some canvas is considered having the boat visible.
I would also measure how high above the deck your top would be and then measure the height of your deck from the ground, on “your” trailer.

Folding T-Top?

https://fishmaster.com/fishmaster-folding-t-top.html

A customer at the boatyard I work for has one of these:

Doesnt seem to be too bad a product. Pretty solid, not bad lines.

I am in the same boat as you! There are plenty of places in Dade & Broward with similar restrictions. I would not have considered the folding top before but that looks like a really well made top. I would like to know if they rattle at the hinges when running.
