Default 1971 20 SF rear hatch ideas

I just picked up a 71 20' and it has the rear hatches in it up against the transom. I'm just seeing if anyone has done anything creative with those hatches and that area (seats, etc). I'm keeping the open transom and am thinking of ideas......

Closed them in on my 1970...
Port has Merc oil tank (hatch on top}
Starboard has Bennett trim pump etc. (hatch facing forward)

assuming from your above reactions you have an MA not an SF, correct?

i am in the process of cutting out my splashwell/hatches from my SF20 if you want em
