A Calm Afternoon Off Hatteras
Here is our 1977 Scepter. We are heading back to the inlet after a day in the gulfstream. The ocean was flat calm. Very unusual!

The wind blew most of the day then laid down in the afternoon. One of my sons fell asleep on the cooler on the way back. Woke up, saw the water tower, looked at the time, could not believe it. Running in at 28 mph. Most days it's an hour and a half of head seas.

Outstanding! Funny you mentioned 28 mph, that's my old clunker's happy speed. Seems 3800 - 3900 @ 28 mph is just where it gets it's best mileage and effortless performance. Good luck!!

My friend takes along a couple of bean bags in his center console. After a long hot day we both relaxed on the bean bag chairs and let the somewhat younger guy drive home. No falling asleep on coolers.
