Default 23 Seacraft IO

Hi all - looking at a used 23 with a vovlo penta IO with outdrive. Any experience with these? Will be kept in saltwater. The owner has had it doesn't have anything bad to say and has kept it IO since the 80s. Engine has under 100 hours

Don't get upset. Not everybody logs on every day. I posted pics on my rebuild thread and went several days with no replies. Oh, and thick skin helps a lot.

My experience with Volvo drives has been fairly good - I had a 290 drive that was great except it kept breaking the hydraulic tilt/trim lines. I think they redesigned that? I am hearing of guys who have had problems with the dual prop version though. An engine w 100 hrs has probably been sitting for a while. I would really check the exhaust manifolds - rust does not stop even when an engine does not get run. Likewise the rubber boots get dry-rot of the rubber.
