Default eBay

Hello guys

I just completed a transaction on eBay, my first. I ordered a new Raytheon L750 fish finder with a TM ducer for $389.99. I was going to go with the Furuno 600 but I had many tell me it may be hard to see, and a friend with a 23' Regulator set up like my SC went with the Ray 750 and likes it alot.

The reason for the post is, I have never used eBay, but the deal seemed "too good to be true" uh-oh.... A new Ray 750 for under $400, sounded really good to me, I was planning on spending upwards of $800-1000 for a good machine. But the photo showed a new machine in plastic and the power cables still had ties on them and the ducer was also wrapped. The transaction was made thru bidpay and that seemed OK.

Anywho, I am wondering if any CSC.com'ers use eBay on a regular basis and if you do how had you done with it? Are there any real pitfalls to look out for?

I am now scouting for a digital camera and again, some of the deals seem too good to be true!!!! Again, UH-OH!!!!

I am interested to hear from the crew.

I sell and buy on e-bay and have never had a problem. All the stuff I sell comes with a money back warry. if they dont like it in any way. Its best to check there feed back. I dont worry at all when I purchase from e-bay but I check the seller first.

Hooper I'm getting ready for E-bay rehab  . I've bought tons of stuff and now I'm starting to sell stuff I have laying around(imagine people bidding against each other for stuff thats been sitting around because I'm to busy for a yard sale ). I have gotten unvelievable deals on stuff here's a few. New Raytheon RayNav 300 WASS GPS $345, new rule 2000 bilge pump $30, new rule auto 750 pump $29, new toyota truck radiator with lifetime warantee $99, front fender for my truck already painted the same color just had to bolt it on $19.99, a $550 electric hydraulic pump(dump truck) $245 with warranty. A 14hp Kohler engine for landscape mower new in box $249 (new retail $800+) you get the picture, Lots of people have new old stock laying around there businesses and this is a good way to sell it. Gravely snow blowers and roto tillers fishing reels you name it I've bought it. I always look for the "steals" and sometimes come out with deals you could not believe. If you are going to bid on something expensive check the sellers feedback from other buyers. I have only had ONE problem out of about 70 buys an I was just buying a Nascar hat and this guy just was selling to much at once to keep track of his sales but I eventually got it straightened out. All of my big purchases have gone very smoothly. I will watch when I get ready to repower to boat sometimes they have lots of new left over engines. You gotta love e-bay

I've bought reels and stuf & sold a couple chartplotters ... Just getting into it but I'm happy so far.

I do see SO much garbage out there though. But there are gems if you know what you are looking for...
