Default First pic or the stringer system

I have not put it in the line up yet but I am too proud not to share it.

The braces are still keeping them together and I need to glass it up but I can finally think about the deck. By the way I never thought I would have to do ALL the stringers. I originally thought definitly transom, maybe the deck, stringers? Naw, never. 2 months later now I am finally where I though I would begin. oh the joys

What is your freeboard going to be when done? Do you plan to put a toe rail in?

Trayder - looks good, I was wondering the same thing are you making that deck higher than the original? If so that should allow you to put "normal" scuppers in there. One thing about my 23 is the original scupper tubes that go down through the floor - I'm just not crazy about the whole concept, they work - but you don't get a whole lot of flow through there, and if you get a couple guys in the corner, the water backs up.
John, sorry you missed the 20' - yeah sorry enough that I'll have to get you out when I go to Rhody.

Hey guys-

To answer the ? about the deck. Yes, I raised the deck up quite a bit. More than I expected. Around 3.5 inches at the stern. This gives a dimension or 19 inches from the top of the deck to the top of the deck cap. Not bad, nor ideal. The whaler outrage 20 that I have in the yard has a similar dimension of 18 inches. It worked well on that boat and I find this reassuring. Better yet I crawled around the 20 at the Boston Boat show and from a "feel" standpoint, my deck is at the same height as the new 20.

For drainage I am now sure the boat will be 100% self Bailing. I have not firmed up how I will plumb the scuppers but I think I will have both scuppers routed to thru-hulls on the transom, probably located them under the Engine Bracket.

We Will see. thats a long way off
