HI LUCKY DOG,
GARMIN HAS ALOT OF MODELS OF GPS WITH THE BLUE CHARTS THAT WORK VERY WELL. THE MODEL 2006 IS ONE OF THE BETTER UNITS THEY HAVE. IF YOU WANTED THE BEST YOU CAN CHECK OUT NORHSTAR, BUT THEY ARE EXPENSIVE. CHRIS |

Hi Lucky Dog
I agree with Chris on his suggestions ... and I'll add another one...Do you want a plotter in there also as most of them already contain them... I have used the Furuno combo units 1650/1850 which are pretty nice.....I dont know how far you need to go (i.e. adding the fish finder) but they are nice.....The plotters are neat Also the Northstar is a nice unit....I dont know your budget but I think you can get one in the 1,500 range (941 model) I’ve used Northstars for many years great machines pretty easy to use...(but everything is getting that way nowadays) There are so many models out there that if you could “play” with some of them it would help you choose whats right for your application.(size of the unit and how many bells and whistles you need or not). I dont know where your from but Consumer Marine Electronics has a great showroom in Wall, NJ with guys that know what they are talking about (atleast that my experience) I wouldnt hesitate to give them a phone call either....they seem to have everything and are priced right there if not better than everyone else. Good luck Scott |

I've seen that unit..Navman...pretty neat!!! and if space is an issue you'll have no problem with this unit..I saw the color unit with the internal antenna ( I personally would be inclined to go with the external ant.) I think the unit is about 6"x6" square. I really like the feature that you can hook it up with a NAVMAN fuel flow sensor and get fuel use data on the screen..flow rate, how much fuel remaining, raange at current speed etc....Pretty nice color unit was about $675 at Consumer marine Scott |
