Yeah! Seems like that b*****d out of the Atlantic is going the same route as Charley. I sure hope it veers away as many of our brethren in Southwest Florida aren't still recovered from Charley. I'm originally from Puerto Rico and I don't remember ever being hit by 3 freaking hurricanes in one year! What's going on this year, anybody know?

Today Ivan is spinning at 160 MPH at that speed No House will be able to stand in its wake. Sure hope it goes and plays some where else where no one would get hurt.

Hi Gang

This is the first time I have had a chance to get to a computer

Even thou Stuart took a direct hit, by some miracle my house survived the long battering hours of the storm without extensive damage. The ole Potter Hull made it through on the lift with just a ripped tee-top canvas Strong old gal huh?

As mentioned previously I had buttoned up and headed North away from the storm when I saw it heading in our direction. Like "Fellowship" I've lived here all my life and know what these babies can do.
Since returning I, wife and dog have been like traveling Nomads. After tuffing a couple of days in the house without services, I stayed in Jupiter, Fla for the last two days with my cousin who has electrical service and water. Boy do I ever appreciate those luxuries now. (especially A/C). I won't get power until the 19th (estimate). There still is power poles and trees down on my block. All the neighbors (but a few with generators) have left. I drove 110 miles yesterday for ice and provisions and decided I'm too old to suffer and with Ivan barking at our door, I packed again along with coolers of food and headed north for a second time. I'm now in Orlando with my daughter(still cleaning up after Charley) I'll watch Ivan's progress and make a decision tomorrow to go back to Jax or stay. I talked with "Mark" and he is shagging to the Outer Banks..

Good Luck to all who live in harms way. This is a bad season for sure and so be safe...

This is Capt Chuck and I approve this message

Chuck,
Good to hear you're okay and everyone is safe. I'm surprised you left the SC on the lift instead of hauling her.

After what you Floridians have been through the past few weeks, and what Ivan seems to be bringing over the next couple days, you're due for many hurricane-free years after this season.

Good luck and God bless.

Went up to Harkers Island, NC, for Ivan, got in some fishing, and am now headed back to Stuart. My canal was full of some amazing stuff the day I left: lots of shrimp, flounder, peacock bass, snappers, snook, turtles - and that was just what I could see swimming on the surface. The Marine Patrol officer I spoke with said fishing should be outstanding once the water settles down in the next week or so. Hear that Capt Chuck?: snook should be good and now they're legal

I checked with my my long time FP@L buddy yesterday and he said he might be able to swing a crew in my neighborhood today or Monday If electrical service is restored then you can shag back to Stuart and stay at my house till yours is back on line...

I need a break, so my long awaited "slingin" adventure with Scott and Jason in a few weeks well be just in time. Then well target dem Snook in your new ride as mine will be hitting Wildfire's doorstep the middle of October
