Hey guys,
Great site. I finally picked up the "Blackwatch," a 79 18' center console, from Ft. Pierce, FL and brought it back to NC. I had not seen her in over two years before last week-someone was keping her for me. Going to have to do some work to her but hopefully it will mainly be cosmetic. This is a ONE owner boat and she has fished from Montauk to the Bahamas. Look forward to speaking with everyone as I run into the inevitable problems. One dumb question... what is the best/most efficient product for cleaning and waxing a badly oxidized hull? Thanks to everyone, Tom Bare. |

Hi Tom
Thanks for the response on the logo's. I appreciate it!! Your question is not dumb...I think we have all asked it at some time or another... Depending on how badly oxidized it is would determine how far to take it...I have a light blue hull that was pretty shot...no gloss at all..tried to compound it with minimal result. So I took it to the next step and wet sanded the hull...WOW what a difference used 1000 or 1200 and kept it wet with a spray bottle...you could feel the paper release and become very easy to move around as it did its work. I then compounded with a 7" Makita buffer and then waxed it..I was real happy with the result. Hope this helps Scott |

Thanks Scott, I appreciate the tip. By the way, you can also call Bass Pro for decals. They are SeaCraft dealers now and usually stock them in the parts department!
