Default weight of 18... snapped axle

Hey guys-

Anyone have the dry weight of a '78 18 CC? I brought the boat up to NC from FL a few months back and just snapped the axle last night.

Since I need a new one I figured on beefing it up and getting new springs while in the process. Want to make sure I over-do it a little if possible.

Oh yeah, we kept the boat on a rack or wet for 15 years.....can't even remember what the old trailer looked like.

I have a 1978 Seacraft specifications book. It lists the dry weight at 1400 lbs. Of course you will have to add the engine weight, fuel and anything else on the boat such as t-top, gear, fishing tackle and etc. If you need any other info that may be in this book please let me know. Hope this helps.
