20' sceptre?
I just found a 20' scepter but is listed as a 19'.
Is this a classic 20' hull or not? I may buy it an convert it to a center console - instead of a 27' in terrible shape. Can anyone confirm if this is a 20'4 or a 19'6? http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/1/2/32987312.htm It was built in 1977 and it must be a 20' version - it is in great shape and I may be buying it this Friday - it is in Oregon and the guys there had never seen a boat in such good shape that old - I told them about this site and about Seacraft in general. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone can confirm what the boat is or if they have any information on the model: Conversion will be: Modified deck up front (shortened but not removed) T - Top (more to the stern center console than most 20') Remove the bulk heads up from and remove all the seats and other crap. Bracket and remove the I/O Can this be done ? Many thanks |

Re: 20' sceptre?
My 1977 brochure has that boat listed and it looks to be the identical model that you listed above on the boat trader site. The specs are 19'8" length, 7'6" beam, 1650 lbs. It has 16 degree deadrise and is rated for a max 175 OB. Every spec is identical to a 20' CC in that year model. The info I have in a 1978 price guide shows that the I/O models were available in HP ranges from 140 HP up to 260 HP. Interestingly enough the 140 HP had a list price of $8990.00. Thw 260 HP listed for $11190.00. This was for the standard boat without the options. Hope this helps.

Re: 20' sceptre?
Thanks so much - that really helps alot as I can now confirm the boat is in fact a 20' version.
I am only seeing it on Friday at which time I will probably buy it and trailer her to the warehouse for the refit. Thanks again |
