Thinking of buying this boat mainly for hull. Hull, deck, etc in good original but good condition. Trailer needs work and motor has low hrs for age. Plan to install either single or twin 4 stroke o/b later. Any idea of value on present o/b? Any comments on going either single or twin. Usually fish between 20 to 30 miles offshore, half of time with buddies on other boats in area. I have 20'Sea Craft cc with I/O now but plan to sell it after I get new purchase set up to my liking. Appreciate any comments.

Serenity - welcome to C-S...
The current rule of thumb (more like consensus wish)is running a pair of Suzuki 140 Four strokes or twin 150 HPDI's on a flotation bracket if you are heading offshore, which 20 mikes could certainly be considered... Up my way, 12 miles "offshore" brings me to another Island so I'll run a single for fuel economy and a kicker/Seatow for reserve & trolling (well, that's the plan anyway). Have no idea what value would be on that engine, certainly in your market but you may want to try nadaguides.com or bucvalue.com

Thanks for reply JohnR. May have to almost give motor away here in Hawaii. Similar size boats here are mainly gas or diesel I/O with Volvo drives. Few have O/B, mainly Hondas, either 90s or 130s. I am more familiar with I/Os but I did have a O/B long ago. Inventory for this size boat is almost inexistent here. Boat I'm looking at is on the west coast. I'm figuring shipping, etc in total cost. This would be my 3rd Sea Craft. Will check on site you mentioned. Thanks.
