center console changes
Have just bought a 1973 20sf, needs a new transome, new power and don't know what else untill I get into this prodject. Also not happy with the original console, I am going to modify it with somesort of pod with single side control like Merritt uses, question is what do I do with the ID sticker that is presently located under the steering wheel.

Re: center console changes
DH
The sticker has max hp for the outboard, max weight/people that can saftly be in the boat and it has part of the hull # on it. Thought I might need to save or move it when I modify the console, be nice not to have to worry with it. Let me know what you think. |

Re: center console changes
HA BAY RUNNER
THOSE PLATES TEND TO DISAPPEAR ON BOATS AS TIME GOES ON. THEY ARE GOOD INFO ON MAX HP AND AMOUNT OF PEOPLE & WEIGHT RECOMMENDED BY THE MANUFACTURER BUT DON’T REALLY NEED TO BE DISPLAYED ON THE CENTER CONSOL. YOU MIGHT JUST KEEP IT IN CASE ANYONE WANTS TO KNOW THE INFO. I HAVE BEEN STOPPED BY MARINE PATROL ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND THEY HAVE NEVER WANTED TO SEE IT. THEY DO WANT TO CHECK THE NUMBERS ON THE SIDE OF THE BOAT, REGISTRATION, AND ID NUMBER IN THE STERN. FELLOW-SHIP |
