Default Installing Livewell Pick-up

Want to install a 3/4" bronze scoop strainer in a 20'. The access is restricted to the center section of the hull. Will this in any way disrupt the water flow to the prop. ( single 200 hp) Not a clear discription, but if you have done it you will know what I am asking.
Thanks for any info.

I always try to keep items at least 5" from the centerline. IT could case the air to enter the prop or even worse the cooling system of the outboard. If you install a tear drop pickup you may get away with it. If you do install it there be sure to have a water pressure guage installed to make sure the outboard is cooling ok.

Thanks Joe, Measured a few other boats yesterday and their scoops are 10" off center, which is as far off center as i can go. So between your 5 and their 10 lets hope it works.
