This is a 1972 Potter built hull. It has the main deck removed and a new grid system installed with intergrated bracket, set for single outboard power. The bottom has been sandblasted in preperation for the bottom to be glassed. All work was performed with West System Epoxy. This is a substantial improvement over the foam glass stringer in the boat orginally. I have too many boats and this one need a good home with someone that want to devote the time & money to have an outstanding performing boat. All the work was done at Desperado Boat Works before we closed up shop. I am asking $7,500 for the boat. The trailer is also available for $1,500.
If you are not farmiluar with the intergrated bracket concept I can email photos of some that we have done. [ November 22, 2003, 11:48 PM: Message edited by: Huggi ] |

What do you mean by glassed? Does the bottom need serious glasswork in addition to a new gelcoat? You also said that the main deck was removed. Was it ever put back in, or would the new owner have that honor? Also, when the new bracket was installed, was the transom glassed in? One last question - does the new bracket provide any extra flotation?
Thanks, Muddy |

Hi Muddywater,
The bottom needs another layer of glass added to the existing laminations for additonal strength. The boat is a 72 an the polyester resin is showing some cracking, it needs to have one or two layers of glass added for strength using epoxy resin. The main deck has NOT been reinstalled. The bracket has been glassed. The bracket does add floation. This is one of the best features of the process. There is enough flotation to support the engine and a livewell at the old transom location. The boat floats level and pops up quickly. Also the stringers extend all of the way back to the engine mount making the boat respond instantly to the throttle. Huggi |

It sounds like a great project boat, but you said that the bracket could only support one motor? It would have been perfect for me if it had been set up for twins. It will still be great for someone who does not want the maintenance $$$ of gas guzzling twins. I will think about it.
Thanks for the info |
