Default Fishing last weekend

All,
We have had kind of a dry spell fishing and bad weather for the last month. This weekend the
wind stopped blowing, and the waves stopped crashing over the bow. Most of all, the fish
started biting. Here's a few shots of the lane snappers (avg 18"), and the Mahi's we invited
for dinner. We also caught sharks, cudas, short groupers (they have to be 24" now), triggers,
remorras, and bonita.

Steve,
Don't know if you where kidding, but the 2 big ones are Mahi Mahi (dolphin), and
the others are Lane Snapper. You should see what they look like when they just
come out of the water. They ran between 15 and 19 inches each.

JOHN B

It looks like you had a great day on the water. Yes I was just funnin with you. But I have gold fish in my little pond up front that lookS just like those. I haven't tried to eat one yet but the ones you have there look yummy. We went out walking tonight [water] and got into some good size striped bass, adv. size was around 40".
we ran out of live herring, so I had to come home

JohnB - what's the bag limit on the snapper? If those fish were striped bass (and at least 28 inches long) in Rhody, you'd need 5 people for them as it's 2 per. In Mass, it's only one per day over 28 inches... Good eating?

Steve, so you got into some decent bass, eh? Bucky runs slowing down now

Steve-

I'm reading your fishing posts and trying to crack your language! Call me Jack Ryan out of the latest Tom Clancy movie! Didn't know you fished up north also. I have worked for Don Parker on the Prime Rate for years on and off both in the cockpit and most recently running the show. I do like it up there, but the south is where it's at for me. I have the boat getting some engine work done now, I think I have a water in fuel problem despite my new Ryacor filter. I'll fill you in later. I can't wait to get back out there!

All for now, Hooper.

Steve - I could make a guess or too but I wouldn't want to cloud Hoop's thinking

John R,
Those particular snappers have a 10 fish per person limit
and must be over 12" in length. They ran 15-18 inches.
They came out of 140 feet of water off of Port Canaveral
and taste just wonderful (although I am partial to the Mahi's).
Everyone on board limited out snapper Sat, going back out
on Thurs again.
