Need some electrical advise

Well I just got the boat back from the fiberglass guy with a raied transom, new glass on the bottom where it had been ran up on the beach for years, and the rod holder holes fixed
now it is on to electrical; just wondering where I can get a new harness, batteries, and switches

another question; are the courtesy lights and navigation lights on the same harness as the engine harness or are they seperate.

As far as batteries, go to Sam's club. They are about 20-50% less price than anywhere else.

Not sure of your rig! However the engine harness is going to be separate from the boats electical system, IE lights, bilge pumps etc. I think if you searc the data base here there was a cataloq of electical supplies that were not teribly expense. Do not skimp in using automotive wire verus marine grade wire.

thanks this helps me out alot. as I now know which harness to pull out of there. Any suggestions or ideas for running new wires to replace the old ones that go to the lights, and bilge pump, etc

One suggestion I can make is don't pull out the old wiring until you're ready to run the new. You can tie or tape the new wires to the old and fish them through, this way you don't have to re-run the new stuff blindly.

If you go to the ABYC website (google it) it will give you the proper colorcodes for the wiring for everything. I generally used 12 gauge ancor wire, have a box full of different colors , and heat shrink ends, i also use dielectric grease on all connections. Corrosion is noones friend.
