23 Inboard
I'm going to check out a 23 CC straight inboard in a couple of days. One owner, supposed to be in good to very good condition. Don't know the model year. Anything in particular to look (or lookout)for with the inboards. Any ideas of market value? When was the last year for the IB's. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 23 Inboard
As far as I've seen online, the IB's are really being marked up by dealers for re-sale up North. Some of these boats are coming from Florida and are listed around $28-29,000, with limited upgrades, but none I've seen are "mint" and they are over priced. The IB, as far as I know, is mostly a Potter creation and I havn't seen any for sale that weren't of 70's vintage (this is a good thing in my humble opinion).Check, as usual, for a soft mushy deck and transom and inspect under the cockpit deck if they will let you, the whole thing will lift out, if its not screwed down. I totally gutted mine and redid it and if you want to discuss send me an email. They are a great seaboat and can run with bigger boats when it gets sloppy, but if you want speed...get an outboard setup.

Have a look here:
http://forum.classicseacraft.com/sho...5&o=93&fpart=1 It's a long way from FL but the IB 23'er is a rare one... Capt. Skip is a buddy of mine and his boat IS mint!
