Well I know have one too.
I need to know how large of a fuel tank did you add and can you add without modifying anything? I have a 40 gallon tank right now. It has a 175 Johnson on it and an armstrong bracket.

Thanks Pipe,
Will

Mine is mostly stock.. My in floor tank is only 28 gallons, it's the biggest tank I could make to fit that spot. The tank is located between the seats, mid ship. I've heard that there are some with bow tanks, but I think they were all I/O models. I hear if you cut the front out of the tank well you can slide a bigger tank in (maybe that was you). I only have a 88 SPL on my boat and the 28 is good for most of the time. A 175 is a lot of ponies for that boat, it was only rated for 135. If I run off more then 15 miles to troll I put a flat 12 gallon tank under the motor well.

Thanks Don,
Great looking boat. I like yor add ons.
The 175 was on when I bought the boat. It flies. Running though in the 3000rpm range is perfect though.
I hate the captain's chairs, I was thinking about installing a leaning post for myself. Don't know what you have as far a seating.
I try to post some pics of mine when I can snap some pics.
I thought the boat originally had a 160hp mercrusier in it.

Thanks again,
will

Thanks.. I have one captain chair for the driver and a back to back lounge on the other side. Behind the captains chair I put a 48qt Igloo with the mounting brackets and a cushion, so I don't have the food cooler in the way. That way I can seat four. Plus the back to back you can sit on the back and watch the baits or open it up and take a nap. I wanted to go hard core fishing but the wife and new son have other plans. So I work in the best of both worlds and have a boat with tons of storage and function. I'll get a pic of the seating for you... The 67's had a 140 Merc I/o which was a 110hp Chevy 4 banger.

By the way Don what kind of performance are you getting with the 88 hp, Inthe future I would not mind running with a 115 or something around that.

I have a 1966 S/C bowrider with 150 Yamaha outboard. It came with a bow mounted galvanize tank, which was removed by original owner and thrown away. I tried to find someone with a boat with this tank set up and all replies were floor mounted. So I built a proto type from cardboard and built the largest that would fit. See my post on page 17 of general section (David Welcome). I have the measurements posted. Any? Contact me and I'll be glad to help. I came up with a 40 gallon tank.

With the 88 spl I get a 30mph cruise and 34mph at wot (GPS numbers)The boat had a Rude 115 on it (1975) and I ran it up to 4 years ago. The 88 and the 115 are the same motor, with the change in rating due to the years it was a dead even swap. I could get more out of her without the top and gear. I'm happy with the way it runs because I'm running in that 3/4 range all the time, which is best for 2 strokes....

David.. dosen't all that weight up front make her bow heavy? When it's rough out it does ride better with the bow down but when it's smooth, she'll realy ride with the bow up and the motor trimed all the way out..
