There are alot of guys here with more experience than me, so I'm sure they will chime in...

A 1970 Seacraft will need a transom and there are probably soft spots in the deck by now. You can do the repairs yourself using this site(and beer).

To me the price is a little high, barter with him. $7,000 would be a good deal. But then I'm cheap.

The price is not bad but with out a marine survey you could be looking at a lot of work that might or might not need to be done. Like transom, gas tank, deck, and on and on and on. If you are not able to determine if these things are in good shape or not spend the $ for someone to let you know.

think about what you are paying in terms of separate items: what would you pay for a Y2K 150hp engine? then, what would you pay for a 34 year old 19'6" hull? Add those figures up and that is what you should offer

Id start with the Hull and see if it needs a new floor or not. Soft spots deffinite indication its shot, spider cracks its probably just wet and should have no problem using it. Transom is probably the most important thing, but chances are if its all original from 1970 Both are probably shot. which in my book a good deal just on the hull would be 2k. then add what ever you think the motor is worth. Good luck
