Default Have you seen or kow the owner?

Last year, Aug 2003, I was pulling my 20' out of the water at Homestead Bayfront park. I saw a 20' light blue on a trailer that had been "chopped". Looked like the boat had about 12" of freeboard cut out thus dropping the cap down. It now looks like a flats boat. It was from a distance and I did not get a chance to go talk ot the owner. I would really like to talk to the owner and go get a close look at his project. Ever since that day in August I can't stop thinking about how cool it looked.

I wouldn't know why anyone would do that. They ruined the offshore ability of the boat and with it's deep V, it would not make a good flats boat.

Yea there was some talk and even pictures on this boat on this forum some time ago. You can do a search and maybe find out about. What I remeber is that the guy needed a flats boat so he took a chainsaw to his 20 seacraft, I think.

I hope to run into him at the ramp again someday. Did the old post have any pictures? This would be a great boat for Florida Sportsman to do a "Dream Boat" article.
