Well here is a question. I hate the cap on my project. I was thinking about creating a new one from sratch. Any good ideas of how I might acomplish this?

When I re did my boat I removed the cap flipped it over removed all the coring material and replaced it then put it back on my boat. That was a 10 day 48 Budweiser part of my re do. How much money do you have in your beer kitty??? My guess that would be at lease a 120 bottle job. Your big problem will be to get your new cap to FIT back onto the hull. When you start doing what you are talking about you will probably have to remove the cap like I did then by changing it to a different design you could have a real problem getting it to FIT back onto the boat after it’s done. That could cost you another 12 pack just getting over your frustrations of it not fitting and then what do I have to do to get it right??? Besides all that I really like the cap of the SeaCrafts well at least the CC modals.

thanks for the reply fellowship
well the cap on a seacraft cc is nice. I have a bastard center conversion. Not thrilled about the gunnels or transom cap. I did get to thinking I would probably leave the bow cap going down almost half way down the boat. I did recore it when I had it off of the boat. I can imagine it's ging to take a bit more than 120 to quench the anger and frustration over this one. I think I can follow the hull pretty good it's the "cap lip" that I am fretting. |
