Default stranger or member?

What does it take to move from a 'stranger' to a 'member'? I have owned sea crafts or had one in the family since 1975. I feel more like a member not a stranger. ** no member jokes please.

I noticed that some members have less than the required posts. Some less than 20 posts. However they all seem to be registered in 2003. Can someone explain this to me? Still non-member PF.

I'll HAPPILY trade my member status with any "stranger" or "newbie". Those of you with the two aforementioned status don't realize how coveted those are!
