Galveston texas
Anybody with any fishing or real estate information pleas post here. I'm interested in waterfront property in the area. Florida may be getting a little overpriced for me and prices are out of the freakin world.

Re: Galveston texas
Minimal dunes and the homes will dissapear...try down around RockportTexas that seems to be an area gaining popularity with better fishing...I don't live in Houston anymore. Out of Galveston you gotta go 20 miles off to get to decent water depths and your really need to go alot farther. The rigs make nice reef structures to fish and some are lighted at night...it is like fishing under the lights on a baseball field. You buy a rig hook and hook to the rig...hardly ever use your anchor.

Re: Galveston texas
After three hurricanes hitting Pensacola, you can buy property right now in the Panama City to Appalachicola area of Florida, which were NOT hit by the 'canes, and pretty cheap, too.
I drove just east of the St. George Island area, and I swear half the Gulf-frontage homes were listed for sale. I asked and it seems most of them are owned by snow-birds, who don't like the insurance rates anymore. I saw one house on concrete pilings, perhaps 12' to the bottom of the 1st floor, it was 2 story house, sign said it was a 2400 sq. ft. 4BR/2BA on 1/3 acre of waterfront for under $600K More than I can afford, but someone else? Its a good place to buy property.
