Default SC 21 Bilge Layout

Ok, stupid question but I have to ask. I have a 2000 21 and I always thought that everything on the boat drained overboard except for the deckplate in the motorwell which clearly goes straight into the bilge if not tightly fit. But after this weeks heavy rains when I stepped into the boat, my weight was just enough to set off the automatic pump which pumped out some rain water. So, in speaking with some friends, they seem to think that the anchor locker drains into the bilge but thats it other than the motor well. Thoughts ?

I have a 2003 21' and I too believe that the anchor locker is the only thing that drains to the bilge. My pump will come on when I am on the incline at the ramp and I have often wondered where the water comes from. I think the access plate to the bilge probable doesn't seal 100% so maybe that is where it comes from.

If Ya have pop up lights , cleats anchor lite-- loose srews -- Center Console is loose or not sealed .there are a # of ways to get water in the bilge.Rain water will find its way anywhere. Have'nt been on a 21 in a loooong time .Is there a front locker on it?A water hose will Not produce the same leakage as rain water.

The boat has everything you mentioned ! Pop up cleats, lights, etc. Also has two front lockers in addition to the anchor locker. Thanks- you answered my question- there are lots of avenues to the bilge !

Pair of Jacks, my 2 fish boxes/lockers drain overboard. Do yours drain to the bilge?

No, they drain overboard- so, the water is either coming from the front anchor locker or motorwell deck plate.
