Albin 26'
Just did a quick inspection of the much heralded SeaCraft "streched" version wanna-be , no doubt it looks the same at the waterline. Too bad they missed the rounded transom cap. Not impressed at all with the fit and finish, very rough...hatcthes don't fit and coudn't be closed and latched...although I bet it rides nice, needs some major refinement and improved QC.

Re: Albin 26'
Jeff,
Not sure if you're aware, but this boat started life as the Cape Cod Marine 26', then Albin bought the mold in '04 or '05. Most buyers are/were Cape Cod GBFT fisherman, so being simple inside was a good thing. I can't personally comment on the fit/finish because I've never been in one, but I've been told the ride is very good with the diesel IB. |

Re: Albin 26'
When the switched from a CC 26 to an Albin 26 they changed alot of things. They put better sound dampering, actually increased the fit and finish and cleaned up alot of things and offer more options. The two things I don't like, is the raised the deck, way to high for my 6'6" frame to feel comfortable, I'd be a little afraid of falling out. They also made the tuna door smaller....? Kind of defeats the purpose of a serious tuna fishing boat IMO.
They do ride very well and they are economical, but they are very expensive. I saw one in Harwich for sale last weekend, the list price was $142,000....ouch! |

Re: Albin 26'
The dealer in Portland Maine has been tweaking them a little bit by adding teak on the deck and some other things like swim platforms etc....I've seen one ripping around boothbay harbor and it looks pretty nice. That boat has no tuna door and an oversized engine...
